Dehydration

Each year the summer gets warmer and our bodies sweat more.  Even though sweat is an integral part of the cooling process for our bodies, it can also show us just how much water we're losing.

Once our bodies start to become dehydrated, our muscles will contract and become tense and sore in order to retain as much fluid as they possibly can.  This isn't necessarily a bad thing, it just means that it's time to increase your fluid intake.  And as many of us know, water is the best thing.  But let me get back to the point where our muscles contract and become sore . . .

Have you noticed that you may experience an increase in back or neck pain during the summer? The intense warmth of the sun and the air quickly pulls the water out of our bodies and we start to "crumble".  Our postures slightly decrease and at times it may feel like you hurt all over.  If we don't keep up with hydrating our bodies, we can get into some serious trouble.

Remember to keep cool this summer, and drink plenty of water!
